The Stour

Leaden Stour

A small tributary of the Stour near Throop, north of Bournemouth.

Ekwall suggests that the names of the Lydden and the Lodden derive from the pre-Saxon 'litano-' (broad). From Ekwall's reasoning we might also apply this to the Leaden Stour.
