Day 11 - Tuesday 29th June 2004
Linlithgow
Supposedly a rest day but spent trying to secure the last 18" Birdy tyre in Scotland and making CDs of my photos to send to Common Ground. Visited Linlithgow's impressive palace the birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots and the home of many Kings of Scotland. Equally distinct is the red sandstone Church of St Michael - the friend to strangers - built in 1242 and now after several restorations topped with a very controversial, striking aluminium spire. Prepared to cross the Forth and the Land of the Picts
