One of the first eating apples of the season, raised by Mr Dummer in Langham, Essex, in about 1949; thought to be Worcester Pearmain x Beauty of Bath; introduced in 1963; crimson with pale yellow russeted dots; crisp, juicy and fairly sweet; good in fruit salad.
